Today’s podcast begins our Live Arts-Philly Fringe coverage with Eric Balchunas of ID RATHER BE HERE talking about the 6th installment of WAWAPALOOZA – The Great Almost. Stay Tuned!
ABOUT I’D RATHER BE HERE
Almost only counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and—Philly! Come watch our lovingly demented short films and plays parodying the Philadelphia Parking Authority, teenage girls, the national debt, the Red Cross, hipsters, Ikea, uninformed voters, and masochistic Eagles fans. Includes one FREE drink.
IdRatherBeHere is a comedy film and theatre production company. The group was started in the dead of winter 2006 in a condo in a complex near a lake down by a Wawa in SoJo (South Jersey). Through a connection of childhood friends and some actors from craigslist, IdRatherBeHere has grown to nine cast members and some invaluable production people. IdRatherBeHere has performed at the past 5 Philly Fringe Festivals where they sold out every performance of their Wawapalooza series. The goal of each of these productions has always been the same: to make a show that is like a postcard to someone who doesn’t live here.
