AO – The many sides of Griffin Stanton-Ameisen!

Today’s podcats features a man of many talents. Mr Griffin Stanton-Ameisen talks to us about his career, his time at Upper Darby Summer Stage, Matchbox Theatre Project and he also shares his monologue with us on the busy streets of Philadelphia! Stay Tuned!

ABOUT GRIFFIN STANTON-AMEISEN

Growing up in Bryn Mawr, PA I started my theatrical career in middle school at Welsh Valley, and continued it at Harriton High School. During my summers growing up I worked on productions at Upper Darby’s Summer Stage.

After high school, I pursued my bachelor’s degree from Temple University in theatre. While studying at Temple, I worked on a significant number of productions, sometimes acting, sometimes directing. In addition, I had the privilege of going to study in London for a semester at Middlesex University. While in undergrad I also worked independently in Philadelphia with companies like The Cardboard Box Collaborative, Flashpoint Theatre Company, Insperado Theatre Company and The Omega Sessions and was able to be a part of the Philly Fringe in 05′, 06′, and 07′.

Desiring more training I went off to the desert that is Las Vegas to get a Master degree. Working with the Nevada Conservatory Theatre and professors Robert Benedetti, Rayme Cornell, Michael Lugering and Phil Hubbard, I trained intensely in the studio and was a part of fourteen productions. The crux of my actor training was Michael’s Expressive Actor work integrating voice, movement and acting as well as Dudley Knight’s speech work. The material I worked on ranged from Shakespeare to Comedy of Manners to Chekhov to American Realism to Mamet to brand new work from the M.F.A. playwrighting program. I also had the privilege of studying film acting with Nate Bynum, Fransisco Menendez, and Michael Tylo and voiceover work with Rayme Cornell.

Egopo Classic Theatre’s world premiere production of The Golem, where I am playing the Puppeteer. For more information: www.egopo.org
